I’m so tired of being fat. Yes, I said the F word – fat. I’m done being overweight. The word overweight doesn’t apply to me anymore. I feel like overweight is when you have an excuse like being a new mom, health problems or other underlying issues. Fat is when you have ran out of excuses. You have put your weight on the back burner for too long. Well that’s what I have done. Now I’m burnt and tired of it. Shaklee 180 has provided me with an amazing opportunity and it’s time that I take it to the next level.
What is the next level you ask? It’s no more excuses. It’s setting goals for myself and making plans to reach them. I’m doing that. The first great thing in my new journey is being chosen as a Smooth Fitness ambassador (more to come on that). As an ambassador, I’ll be working it on an amazing treadmill and sharing my progress with you all. That in itself is a great addition to my life. I really feel that this opportunity and Shaklee 180 go hand in hand for me.
Then I sat down and thought about my goals. One goal I have for myself is to run a 5k before this year is over. I have never ran any kind of marathon before in my entire life. I’m not a runner – yet. I was browsing around online and came across the 5K Foam Fest! Foam, Mud, Obstacles, 5K Fun Run! It sounds amazing and it’s coming to a location near me in September. This is the 5K that I want to be my first 5K. Why not have fun while I run?! It makes complete sense. All I need is a new pair of shoes. This is Cindi Bigelow and I during my trip to Charleston. This is one of my favorite shirts. Looking at it in the pictures… I’m not sure why. It’s not flattering.
May was tough. I traveled to Arkansas at the beginning of May and South Carolina at the end of May. I don’t have a travel blender, so I packed bars. I’ll be honest, it’s really hard to stick to a diet plan while traveling – good thing I don’t do it too often. I did watch what I ate. Honestly, there were three times that I ate out this month where I just let go and ordered whatever I wanted. Of course, I felt shameful afterwards. Not to mention, I wasn’t very good at taking my thyroid medication while traveling – that was a setback too. It messes with my hormones and metabolism.
This last week of May has been the best Shaklee week yet. I have stayed on plan. I haven’t been over eating or snacking. Plus, I have been consistently using my new treadmill. Did I mention I have a consistency problem? I’m not very good at it. So the fact that I have stuck to the plan four days in a row is something I’m proud of. Don’t get me wrong, I have stuck to my Shaklee plan longer than that. But to have stuck with my Shaklee plan AND an exercise plan at the same time. That’s amazing in my book.
My results weren’t spectacular this month. Actually they were kind of discouraging. Let me back up a minute. I woke up this morning not wanting to get on my treadmill. Then I decided to measure and weight myself first. After weighing myself, I normally might have thought about giving up. Good thing I have things in place to keep me accountable. I gained five pounds this week. I lost an inch in my waist but I gained five pounds. That is enough to knock me down. This is me. Wild. Crazy. Never perfect. Me. Improving. One day at a time.
Do you want to know what I did? I put on my sports bra and my shoes (along with the rest of my clothing), grabbed my water bottle, earbuds and jumped on my treadmill. That is who I am now. That is who I want to be. This is me.
