Where has the Summer gone? I know many kids have already started school back up. My kids begin this coming up Monday. I’m not sure if I’m ready. I know they are – I’m just not sure about me. During the school year, even with a busy schedule, I like to find ways to be involved. This year I have found a way to earn extra cash for our school with Safeway Back to School and Tyson Project A+.
Beginning August 15th, 2013, all you have to do is shop at Safeway and purchase items that are marked with the special Safeway Back to School tag. When you do, Safeway will designate 10% of the net purchase price to support the school of your choice at the end of the program. You can go online and sign up for the fundraising program, eScrip. When you are an eScrip member, your donations will be automatic. If you don’t sign up, there will be a redemption code and details printed on your receipt.
This is really great! I love shopping at Safeway because I find a bigger selection there. They carry the products that other stores don’t. This is just one more incentive to continue shopping at Safeway. This program runs from August 15th through September 10th, 2013. If you want to see a list of participating products, more details or to sign up for eScrip, visit the Safeway Back to School website.
Then there is Tyson Project A+. I told you all about the program in a previous post; however, let me give you another run down. There are over 30 participating Tyson products where you will find a Project A+ label. Clip those labels and save them up to earn extra cash for your school. Tyson will give 24 cents for each label to your school! You only need 100 labels to turn them in and you can earn up to $12,000 per calendar year for each school!
So, when you put the Safeway Back to School promotion and Tyson Project A+ together, it could tremendously benefit your school. Imagine if you could get other people involved to – your family, your friends, neighbors, everybody! Personally, I shop at Safeway and we love Tyson products so I plan to earn a good amount of extra cash for our school.
We went and met my daughter’s new fifth grade teacher earlier this week. It turns out that her actual classroom has not been used too much in the last couple of years. She transferred from the junior high this year. All her desks are old and lopsided. She said they were the best ones in the storage. Not two of them are alike. I think it would be great to get those students in that classroom some new desks. Maybe with the money earned from these programs, that can get them one step closer.
Even though we love Tyson chicken products, I’ve been trying to think of creative ways to use more of it. After all, the more we buy, the more our school earns. My kids love Tyson Chicken Fries and the Fun Shaped Chicken Nuggets. I like the chicken nuggets because they are 100% all natural ingredients and made with white meat. I grabbed some disposable popcorn cartons from Safeway while I was there. I cooked up some of the chicken and put it inside along with some puffed popcorn. We don’t quite give our little guy real popcorn yet.
He loved it. He ate slower than usual because he wanted to continue eating from the cool carton. He ate it all. Plus, he had the rest of his snacks in that same carton all day. I’m sure he will be asking for it again tomorrow. I couldn’t decide between the two pictures because he is so darn cute. I decided to share them both with you.
What are you go to after school snacks?
