When I was younger, I started wearing glasses at the age of four. My oldest has been wearing them since he was five. My daughter has been wearing them since she was four. Now my youngest got them at age three. They aren’t just for reading either. We have to wear them every single day of our lives. I don’t even know what it’s like to wake up, look around and see my surroundings. I have to grab my glasses first. Me and my children’s vision gets worse once or twice a year – each. I’m always buying glasses for kids every year.
Buying glasses for the four of us can get expensive. So whenever there is a deal, I jump all over it. When I heard about JCPenney Optical’s Back to School promotion, I was excited. You can get a complete pair of kids’ designer eyeglasses for only $25! You can choose any kids’ frame up to $120! This offer also comes with free impact and scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses, free UV protection and free eyeglass protection plan for any school-aged child 16 and under. This special price ends on August 31st, 2013 – so don’t delay!
My oldest is only two months away from being 18 so he wasn’t able to get a pair and our little guy is only three. My daughter is nine and going into the fifth grade on Monday – this was a great deal for her. She got her current glasses several months ago but they have been very loose so this was a great opportunity to get a new pair before school starts and use her old ones for back-ups.
When we got to JCPenney’s Optical office, they showed us where the kids’ frames were. There were many to choose from. For my daughter, her glasses are so thick she likes the plastic frames because you can’t see the thickness. So that narrowed our search a bit. The first pair of frames she tried on were her favorites. After trying on about 20 different frames, she ended up deciding on them. The optical tech mentioned they got some new frames in just for this promotion.
The frames she chose were Candie’s. This excited her because all the frames she has wanted in the past were Candie’s; however, they were always out of our budget. So this was perfect. They were so cute on her, fit her great and a brand she loves for only $25!
While we were waiting for the technician to assist the woman before us, we looked around and my daughter had fun trying on tons of frames (whether she like them or not). It was a fun mother/daughter bonding experience.
In the end, she has a lovely new pair of glasses to put on her beautiful face just in time for school to start on Monday – all for only $25!
