This past weekend, our family visited the 43rd annual Half Moon Bay for the Art & Pumpkin Festival. I didn’t realize just how popular the festival was until we arrived. People travel from afar to attend this annual event. Everywhere I looked there are families having fun, vendors showcasing their products and lots of pumpkin goodies to be eaten! Then I came across a mess – literally. The Mohawk License to Spill Tour was having a Carpet Showdown.
Look at the mess! Believe it or not, it came clean! I can’t believe I didn’t grab an after picture of the results. It was amazing. Kids were up on the stage smashing all of this stuff into the carpet. They used Kool-Aid, chocolate syrup, strawberries and more.
The Mohawk Flooring Booth was full of fun. It took me a while to get a picture where you could actually see what they had going on. You could walk down the red carpet, past all the different carpet samples to find the Carpet Showdown demo where you could experience SmartStrand.
SmartStrand is some pretty amazing carpet! There is stain protection built right into the carpet. You can easily remove a stain with just water! If you have a really bad mess, you might have to steam clean it but your carpet will still look as good as new. Unlike most carpets, wear and tear will not show.
As you can see, SmartStrand is very easy to keep clean. With
wild kids, that is really important. I always worry about how toxic carpet cleaners might be. If I had SmartStrand carpet, I wouldn’t need carpet cleaners! All I would need is water, a rag and maybe something like dish soap (depending on the stain).
So I asked this Mohawk demonstrator about everything – ketchup, red wine, Kool-Aid… you know what he said? He told me not to worry that SmartStrand carpet will fight back everything. He said I could put vampire white carpet in my house WITH KIDS! I have always wanted white carpet.
While I was visiting Mohawk flooring and drooling over the SmartStrand carpet, Chef Ryan Scott was there cooking up something else for me to drool over. You might know him from Bravo’s Top Chef. He’s also the host of Food Rush on the Live Well Network. Anyway, he made some pretty amazing chicken sloppy joes.
As if that wasn’t enough, Chip Wade was there too! He is the host, designer and contractor for HGTV’s Elbow Room. He was there covering the Mohawk event with the BetterTV crew.
Right now, you can visit the License to Spill (San Francisco) page on Mohawk’s website and enter to win a 6′ x 9′ SmartStrand Silk bound carpet rug!
