Mom With a Dot Com is giving away two amazing green books. The first book is Healthy Child Healthy World: Creating a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home by Christoper Gavigan. This book covers so many different aspects on keeping your home green and safe for everyone in your home – from your babies to your pets. There are also contributions by Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooke Shields, Michelle Obama, Tom Hanks, Tobey Maguire and Kate Hudson. 

The second book is The Essential Green You! by Deirdre Imus. This book shows you easy ways to detox your diet, your body and your life. It will touch on the food you eat, the clothes you wear, your cosmetics, your toiletries and everything else in between.

    We reuse our grocery bags, also buy used items at yardsales!

  2. I cloth diaper my baby. I reuse packaging materials, shipping boxes, and gift bags.

  3. We recycle…everything possible. And we create a vegetable garden every year w the kids in our back yard.

    I try to make my life green by recycling and by buying products that are landfill freindly

  5. something i do to keep my life green is we recycle in our home and i try to only do laundry once a week and run the dish washer once a week.

    Walking instead of driving as much as possible!

    Recycle, stopped using paper plates and napkins and switched to using ceramic. I also use glass containers rather than plastic wrap for refrigerating leftovers.

    We recycle regularly (glass/paper/cardboard/cans/plastic)

  10. we always use paper at the grocery store or bring our cloth bags

  11. I just started washing and reusing ziploc bags. I bring my own bags to the store, cloth diaper, compost and shop used clothing.

  13. I try and reuse containers and such as much as possible, we waste very little, and I have recently just started using vinegar and lemon juice to clean pretty much anything

  14. We have radiant heat, which we hardly ever even need since we’re in the middle of the building!

  15. I recycle and reuse items as much as possible. I also try to buy products with little or no packaging whenever possible.
