Michelle Williams Interview | Oz the Great and Powerful #DisneyOzEvent

The Michelle Williams interview was great. She is such a down to earth, classy woman. That really sums it up but I’ll go on. As you might know, she’s a mother herself. I felt that made it really easy to connect with her, even during a "press interview." I say it that way because I didn’t feel like press when I was interviewing the cast. It was a very friendly environment.
Being that Michelle plays Glinda (the good witch) and she is extremely beautiful, we wanted to know if she was prepared to have so many little girls flocking around you and looking up to you. While she was on stage, she hadn’t "entertained" the possibility at all that she would delight other children. They would "oohhh and awww" and wave at her. She thought about delighting one young child but didn’t realize there would be more. She also said, "What feels better in this whole world than making a kid smile?"
We are all moms, so you can expect we were wondering how she balances her career with motherhood. It’s no easy task for any mother and I’m sure it’s especially hard being a star and a mother. Michelle explained that nobody prepares you for motherhood. Nobody really tells you the truth which is that it is not possible. It’s always going to be give and take – never a perfect balance.
Honestly, I have to totally agree with Michelle. I’m no star. I’m just a stay at home mom with a blog and I find it hard to balance that, the kids, family and the house. I could never imagine having to be in the spotlight, on the set and swarmed with paparazzi – all as a mother. Hey Hollywood… if you reading this, feel free to knock on my door – I’ll try anything.
Michelle was even honest enough to say she should be asking us if we have it figured out and what works for us, what doesn’t and what are the tricks. She wanted to know what do you really give up? She would rather not clean the house and have some "me" time. I second that! Forget the house and take a bath.  Michelle would rather not pre-wash her dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. That would give her an extra 15 minutes of me time. A friend of hers said something to her recently that stuck with her. "Everybody thinks that you should spend your time making money but I think you should spend your money making time." That will get you thinking for a minute, I’m sure.
Michelle did an amazing job as playing Glinda in Oz the Great and Powerful. We wanted to know what her inspiration for her character. She was so polite and thanked us for the compliment. She thought a lot about her character and has been watching the original Wizard of Oz passively for years. She has even watched it with her daughter. They wanted people to feel like they were on a journey with Glinda.
Glinda shows that she struggles and she is human. She is good, innocent and can believe the best in people. Michelle thought a lot about her transformation into Glinda. She thought of Glinda as somebody who transforms tears into bubbles and makes the best of a rotten situation.
She went on to applaud the Director, Sam Raimi, on what an amazing, cool guy he is. He has a big family on top of his movie making talents. It’s a tough job making a movie this big. She mentioned that he maintained his exuberant, buoyancy personality through it all and that had to have been hard with 150 people and all their personalities, their jobs and their questions. He was always genuinely interested in what everybody had to say. Stay tuned for Sam Raimi’s interview tomorrow!
We were fortunate enough to get a group photo with Michelle Williams! How cool is that!? She concluded her interview by being interested in our blogs and she even asked for a list of them to be given to her at a later time! That is very exciting to think that Michelle Williams just might visit my blog one day. After interviewing Michelle Williams, I really wanted to have a Dawson’s Creek marathon.
