My Dreaded Monday Post

I dread writing this post. This is my dreaded Monday post. I dread it in a way that I know it has to be written to put it all out there. This week started out blah, got better then it just went down the drain. I’ll be honest, I was bummed when I wasn’t chosen as a finalists for Mamavation. Then I read the Monday posts and I was like, "Let’s Do This!" I shifted my focus to the Move It & Lose It challenge.

Quick background… I’m highly Vitamin D deficient. I’m supposed to take 4,000 milligrams a day for the rest of my life. On top of that, I was suffering from some mild depression. In my opinion, it’s a combination of postpartum, being overweight and it’s been a long time since I have been a stay at home mom. Not to mention, when I was a stay at home mom before, I had a social life and lots of friends. Since then, they’ve all moved away and/or are not stay at home mom’s so they have busy lives.

Now to today – this week. About a month ago, I started taking Vitamin D and St. John’s Wort. I don’t like taking pills and these were my all natural alternatives. So I went for it. I thought they were working and now I know they were. I’m horrible about taking pills daily (the sole reason birth control pills are NOT an option for me). So this past week I forgot a couple of days and then a day more. Well my energy level went down and my mood got blah. I call this my "unexpected, accidental experiment." Let’s just say I’m glad it happened now BEFORE the Move It or Lose It challenge.

Now that I’m back on track with that, I’m back on track. Today I’ve created a log to start tracking what I eat (which I’ve done so far today). I created a log to keep track of my daily water intake and a log to record my pedometer readings at the end of everyday. I NEED accountability. So, just to be sure, I’m going to hold myself accountable. On the bright side, I didn’t do too bad at the eating this past week as I could have. I did have one bad dessert, let my portion control slip a couple times and had one Ginger Ale. I know there are NO SODAS but if you felt the nausea I did, it was necessary. It’s what works for me. My weight this week disappoints pisses me off. I’m so irritated that all my hard work was lost because I let go!

This Week’s Weigh In

I GAINED 2.4 pounds! πŸ™

Even though I wasn’t chosen as a finalist, there is still a chance for me to participate in Earth Footwear’s Move It & Lose It challenge. Out of the applicants who are not one of the final two Mamavation Moms one person that loses the highest percentage of body weight during the seven week Mamavation campaign will win $500 and a pair of Earth Footwear. Second place will get a pair of Earth Footwear (I almost didn’t mention that because my eye is on first place).

I’m going to dominate the Move It & Lose It Challenge!

This is your forewarning: I will be posting pics of my full body next week… yeah, I’m thrilled. So if you don’t want to see it then just skip over next Monday’s post πŸ™‚ I won’t mind.

  4. Rita Ann, crush the challenge!! I am glad you did not have a lengthy spiral after not taking the Vit D and St. Johns Wort. I want to see you do well. Now smile πŸ™‚

  5. Just call on me brother (sista) when you need a friend.

We all need somebody to lean on. *HUGS*

It’s all good, girl! You’ll get where you want to go!

  6. I really like your positive attitude. You will dominate the challenge! Just make sure you dont dominate me over cause I’m so winning! Lol πŸ˜‰ Seriously good luck! I’m so glad your choosing to still do the challenge!

  7. Can’t wait to follow you all on the Move It and Lose It contest!!

Hang in there. Stop judging yourself too much. I am the same way. I find if I forget meds or don’t exercise or get out of the house, it’s easy for me to have a little bit of a slump.

PPD sucks too, not saying you have it but if you ever feel like talking, I’m here. I had pretty bad PPD in 2007.

    Take care

  8. I love it! I truly believe you will dominate in the MIALI challenge. That shortened form doesn’t look cool at all. Huh.
