Oz the Great and Powerful Red Carpet Experience at El Capitan Theatre #DisneyOzEvent

On Wednesday, February 13th, I flew to Los Angeles and met up with 24 other amazing bloggers. We were going to walk the red carpet during the World Premiere of Oz the Great and Powerful at El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. I was beyond excited!

It was craziness having to primp to walk the red carpet. Sure, I dress nice to go places here and there but nothing like this. Before I left home, I had my hair cut and colored by Envee Salon. I visited Sweetwater Spa for a facial, a manicure and pedicure. I also had a small makeup tutorial from Elements by Beaute. Luckily, there were so many of us, we were able to get assistance with hair, makeup or zipping up. Here is Amber from Thrifty Ninja and I chatting about our jewelry I believe.

When I arrived, I still had not decided on which dress I was going to wear. It was about ten minutes before we were to meet in the lobby of our hotel, The Langham Huntington, that I decided on this purple dress. Once we left, I kind of wished I would have went with the open toed shoes but there was so much excitement, I forgot about that quick.

Before we left the hotel for the red carpet, we got a group photo. This is the famous Marshall with his 25 beautiful dates. It’s almost like an opening episode of The Bachelor except we all got along.

On our way down Hollywood Boulevard, we came across these lovely stairs and decided to take a picture. Do you recognize them? These aren’t just any stairs. These are THE "Oscar Stairs." This is at Dolby Theatre! How cool is that?!

When we got closer, this was our view. We were on Hollywood Boulevard and could see the Oz balloon in our sights! It was amazing. There were so many people and the streets were blocked. You could see all the limos and black SUV’s bringing in the stars. The woman next to the SUV (in the red dress) that is Rachel Weisz who plays Evanora in the movie.

This huge Oz billboard was on top of the buildings. I know I opened with this picture but isn’t the full view just beautiful? All the lights, people and cameras flashing. This whole night was such a rush.

As we got close to the hustle and bustle of the red carpet, the balloon was so beautiful. The blue was royally vibrant, it almost seemed unreal. This was as we were walking next to the red carpet (which was actually a yellow brick road).

When we first arrived in the line to make our way down the red carpet, we were given our World Premiere tickets and I couldn’t have been more thrilled! You know I’m going to keep this for the rest of my life… hopefully, we weren’t supposed to turn these in anywhere. They were also generous enough to provide us with popcorn and a drink.

As we made our way down the red carpet, I was able to see some stars and snap some pictures. Here is Mila Kunis (who plays Theodora in the movie) posing for all the paparazzi. She looked amazing!

Here is the backside of Michelle Williams (who played Glinda in the movie) posing for pictures. She looked gorgeous!

There were so many paparazzi taking pictures, we have been keeping our eyes out for us making our debuts. Here CeleBuzz.com snapped a nice picture of Michelle Williams on the yellow brick road while I was taking a picture of her. There were many other pictures floating around with some of us in them but this is the best one I have found of me. That’s Mom Start over to the left.
In the middle of it all, I managed to get a glimpse of Wayne Brady. I thought that was interesting and he’s a pretty funny guy so I grabbed a photo.

I can’t even begin to tell you how exciting this whole night was and it had just begun! Everything was so loud but in a good way. There were the paparazzi telling the stars to look their way. There were fans holding signs and pictures while screaming the stars’ names. I never thought that this is how the red carpet was.
While I was making my way down the red carpet, I managed to stop real quick and get a picture taken of me. They like to keep things moving so I was pretty happy about getting this picture. This picture is famous. Okay, well to me it is. There is a video of PopSugarTV interviewing Zach Braff. During the interview, you can see this picture being taken in the background.

You didn’t think I would tell you about a video and not show it to you? You will see at 00:09 seconds, I come in on the right, make my way across and even get the above picture taken. In a way, I guess you could say this is my 15 seconds of fame.
Once we made our way through the flashing lights and stars, we were at the entrance of the El Capitan Theatre! It was time to watch the World Premiere of Oz the Great and Powerful.
Here are all of us "Mother Bloggers." You’ll know about that term later in my posts. I was ready for a great movie. It was my first 3D movie I have seen in the theatre. It was also my first time with such a large group at a movie. It was so much fun and I loved every second of it.
While we were waiting for the movie to begin, there was a man playing an organ on the stage. When it was time for the movie to begin, the organ player disappeared into the floor of the stage. It was great. The stage was so nice. I wouldn’t mind being able to visit there often and take my family. This is where we had to put our cameras and phones away for the movie to start.
Once the movie was over, we got to head to the after party at Lure nightclub. There were so many fun things and people to see. This was taken near the VIP area. The whole room was green, keeping in theme with the movie.
Do you know who this is? This is Ashton Kutcher! I was giddy when I spotted him because I had a super crush on him when I was younger. I even had a purse that said "Mrs. Kutcher." I know, I know… but I couldn’t help to jump back in time for a moment. This is not zoomed or anything. I was that close.
A few of us saw Joey King who played China Doll in the movie. She was with one of her "besties," Emma Raimi who is the director, Sam Raimi’s, daughter. She was kind enough to take a picture. She is just as cute and sweet in person as she is in the movie! It was a pleasure getting to meet her.
Then we ended up strolling by Francesca Capaldi and Blake Michael. They play Chloe James and Tyler James on Disney’s Dog With a Blog. I thought it was great that they get along and were together outside of ‘show business.’
Blake Michael and I had taken a picture together; however, all of the pictures were turning out really dark because of the lighting. So he decided to take out his phone to use the flashlight for light. He did this on his own. I never once complained about the darkness. How nice of him!
Once Blake got his phone out and had the flashlight going, the lighting was so much better and the picture turned out great. I was so excited to get home and show my daughter all of these pictures. She was so excited because she loves Dog With a Blog and Lemonade Mouth (which Blake Michael stars in as well).
There was this table of miniature cupcakes that spelled "ENJOY OZ BETTER." They were chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. The vanilla ones were amazing! They had graham cracker in the middle. I had never tasted anything like it before and we all know my obsession with cupcakes.
There were a couple of staff next to the cupcake table that were handing out tokens. You could bring the tokens to this huge bubblegum ball machine. Inside each ball was a cupcake. There were three specialty flavors. I got a mint one and it was yummy. This was such an exciting night; unfortunately, it had to come to an end.
