The First Month of My New Shaklee 180 Lifestyle

For the past month, I have been participating in a life changing program. I will be a Shaklee 180 Blogger for the next six months. Even though you might already know, I didn’t officially announce it for good reason. For the most part, I didn’t want to set myself up for failure. I wanted to be sure I could do this for myself and nobody else. Guess what? I can and I’m taking you with me on my journey.

Shaklee 180 has a simple concept. If you follow the plan, you can live a healthier, more active lifestyle. I start my mornings with a smoothie that I add coffee to in order to get moving for the day. A couple of hours later, I have a snack. This is either a Shaklee 180 snack bar, an egg or something of the sorts. For lunch, I have another smoothie or a Shaklee 180 meal bar. Then, another snack before dinner. For dinner, I watch my portions and try to eat something healthy. I’ve even swerved a bit and had a regular lunch and a smoothie for dinner.

I bet you’re wondering how the smoothies are (some call them shakes) – everybody does. Shakes have always been hard for me. I’ll be honest, there is no way I could drink ANY shakes simply shaken with the mix and milk or water. They are too grainy and the texture is just off for me. With the Shaklee 180 smoothies, I can honestly say that I have perfected the process. I blend the ice, milk and mix for a couple of minutes and then add whatever else I would like to add. There are four flavors of smoothie mix that include Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla and Cafe Latte. Although I’m anxious to try the Cafe Latte, that is the only flavor I have yet to try. I’ll share some of my favorite recipes with you soon (yes, I make them up as I go).

The Shaklee 180 meal bars come in two flavors – Blueberry & Almond Crisp and Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip. They are both very good but, of course, I prefer the one with chocolate. The snack bars are different and totally do-able. There are three flavors including Chocolate Chocolate, Crunchy Peanut Butter and Lemon & Cranberry. My favorite is the Crunchy Peanut Butter. There is also an energizing tea that comes in green matcha and pomegranate flavor. It helps me get through my days. Another included bonus is the Shaklee 180 Metabolic Boost. This is a supplement powered by green tea to burn calories naturally.

Being that I have about 60 pounds to lose, I’m using the Turnaround Kit. The kit includes three canisters of shake mix, two boxes of meal bars (14 total), a box of assorted snack bars (10 total), a box of energizing tea (28 packets) and a bottle of the metabolic boost (90 capsules). These are all the tools I need to get this weight off. Along with these products and some exercise, I plan to reach my goal by the end of my six months.

So, how am I doing you ask? Okay. I’ll be honest, my first month wasn’t the greatest. I can say that I stuck to it better than I usually stick to something. Even when I slipped up and ate something not so good or skipped a shake, I got back up and kept going. That’s not something I can normally say. No offense but I’m glad I didn’t announce this a month ago. It allowed me to figure it out and set the stage for my success without feeling pressured or that I had to live up to something. Now I’m ready – ready to keep going and share my journey with you.

I took before pictures. Keep following my journey and I’ll show them to you, at some point – I promise. I’m hoping I have the courage to post them next month. With my measurements, I think someone ate them (and it wasn’t me). I took them again this month but I’m still hoping to find them. I never give up hope when things are lost (just ask my iPod). Then there is my weight. I want to really do this. I weigh too much. I started this program on March 1st at 206.2 pounds. After a month, I weight 204.2 pounds. I lost only two pounds. Honestly, I’ll take it considering the facts.

My goal for April is to see a loss of inches and some pounds. I will not lose my measurements this time. They are both on paper and on my computer. I’m also hoping to see some sort of change to where I feel comfortable enough showing you all my before picture. My activity level has not been stellar this past month either. I have been lazy and it’s embarrassing. Truth time?

So I went and bought a pedometer about a week ago. A couple of years ago, I set a goal for myself to walk 10,000 steps a day. I managed. Even though I knew I wasn’t getting in 10,000 steps a day right now, I assumed I had to be getting at least half of that in. After I bought the fancy pedometer, I started using it. The results were Pathetic – yes, with a capital P. It was like a fourth of that. I’m ashamed that this is what I have become. I have a stationary bike and an all in one weight machine and I don’t even take advantage of them. I’m more of a walking girl; however, I’m not big on being outside unless I’m traveling. Weird. Yes, I know.

Anyway, I’m fixing all that. It’s in the past and it’s time to move on. I’m going to lose this 60 pounds. I’m going to melt off some inches. In the process, I will build muscle and increase my energy level. I’m excited. If you want more information or want to join me, feel free to check out my Shaklee website. If you have any questions at all, please ask! Be sure to check out my first Shaklee vlog (yes, I did a video). Just don’t judge me on the obvious lack of video skills.

This is a sponsored post as part of the Shaklee Corporation blogger program. I have received free products, online support, and incentives for participating. My opinions are my own. *People following the weight-loss portion of the Shaklee 180™ Program can expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week.

  1. I used to be able to share lost and found pet links but have recently started receiving messages that what I am trying to share cannot be posted on my page. I can share it on my personal timeline, but not on my page. Any ideas about that? I am only having trouble with one organization, and she’s as flummoxed as I am about the problem.

  2. My neurologist had just returned recently from a conference at which hemicrania continua was being thoroughly discussed. He did more evaluations on me, and diagnosed hemi…w/ complex migraines and associated mental/cognitive decline. Indomethacin has worked WONDERS!!! Multiple doses, to be sure, but the difference is incredible! Some of your other responders’ symptoms sound a LOT like mine…

  3. Good lord. If nothing else would, this schedule proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are the Most Dedicated ball fan I have ever known. Bar none.Wow. Those ball players? THEY should be asking for YOUR autograph!

  4. Posted by: garyWhat is surprising/weird about Acme’s S1 is they market they have 240 customers yet 52% of last two quarters revenue comes from just four accounts. I think they either have a scaling problem or just a small entry product or is the market or accounts just trying them but not growing? Or is it just some grand marketing until they get bought like Kagoor? That was a pretty small deal and now you don’t hear or see them in accounts.

  5. Well this is a great news for all those students who were previously finding it difficult to finance their studies. With such types of loan offers, i am sure many students would come forward to realize their dreams of further studies. This is an opportunity that the students should make the most out of it.

  6. Yup, that’ll do it. You have my appreciation.

  7. Thank you for covering this issue. It would be nice if you could interview local Ecuadorians about it, too. It certainly helps to be reminded that the costs are geared to local salaries and income. Plus, it would be good to have a video about how not to dress like a rich American. Although some of us are on severely restricted incomes these days, a lot of our wardrobes were purchased when we had good jobs and could afford more expensive items. What would be considered "normal," and what is considered "flaunting it"?Thanks for all you do.

  8. For me I find that it is a rowing maching. You can get killer abs doing that and the beauty of it is that you work the rest of your body while you are at it. I mean do you want abs and nothing else. Rowing will do it all

  9. Brittney Hooiman – This is an awesome giveaway! I just heard about project life not too long ago so I would love to win a kit to get started. I think it’s a brilliant idea! Thanks for the chance!

  10. That’s a creative answer to a diliucfft question
